Knife composition «Young bride»

«Young bride» is a composition consisted of the figure and the blade inside it.

The image embodies a Buryatian girl wearing a traditional wedding dress. It is a depiction of the dreaminess and naivety, reading behind the mischievous sparkles in the eyes, and the sly smile. The child is dreaming of the day she would grow up, and the dress, which is too big for her now, would suit her very well.

Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov's works are often bond different Eastern cultures together. For example, in some national traditions, the knife is considered as one of a wedding present for a woman. In husband's absence, a knife was used for self-defense and protection of a family. The composition embodies the image of youth and the moment of becoming a strong personality.
