Small plastic «Rhino»

Small plastic  "Rhino" is the prototype of the sculpture of the same name by Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov. The smoothness of its silvery surfaces is similar to the streams of water caught in the first frost. The fast current plays under the ice with glare and bizarre refraction of reflections, creating the effect of internal movement. The grainy surfaces processed using the shotting technique, on the one hand, create a play of contrasts, and on the other, evoke associations with the rough skin of an animal.

Distinctive features of the small plastic "Rhino" from the sculpture are ears and an enlarged horn. This is a manifestation of the gravitation towards realism, which is more characteristic of the author's small sculptures. In works of a larger scale, Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov strives for the unity of style, while the compositions are distinguished by eclecticism and creative experiments.
