Since January 25 at the Art Museum named after Ts.S. Sampilov's personal exhibition of the famous Buryat jeweler-gunsmith Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov "Through the Elements" begins its work.
This is the second exhibition of the famous artist within the walls of the National Museum of the Republic of Buryatia.
Recall that in 2015 in the Museum of History. M.N. Khangalov successfully passed the first personal exhibition of Zhigzhit in Ulan-Ude "Forward to the origins", where the author presented his author's knives and compositions to the audience.
The exhibition "Through the Elements" is a kind of result of the author's work over the past three years and will present more than 30 works of silver, gold and other materials. For the first time at the exhibition, Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov will present his bronze sculptures, which he has been working on for the past three years. Also, you will be able to see new author's knives and compositions, traditional Buryat knives and small plastic items.
Over the past two years, many events have taken place that are important for Zhigzhit's work - this is his participation in an exhibition in the State Hermitage Museum among the leading modern Russian gunsmiths. For the first time, the Bayaskhalanov Workshop-Studio took part in several international weapons exhibitions Coutellia-2017 in Thiers, SICAC Paris Knife Show and FICX Paris in Paris, France, where national Buryat knives aroused particular interest among visitors and Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov became the winner in one from nominations.
Zhigzhit is a hereditary craftsman, his passion for the craft began in his homeland, in the Aginsky Buryat district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, where he became interested in working with metals from childhood, watching his father, a true master of his craft. It was the father who supported the boy's hobby, which grew into a profession and gave success.
Currently, Zhigzhit lives and works in St. Petersburg, he has a creative workshop-studio, which is a single and strong team consisting of friends and like-minded people. The works of Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov adorn the collections of famous politicians, businessmen, public figures and replenish the exhibition funds of museums and galleries around the world.
